Several years ago, the City of Cerritos used an MSRC AB 2766 Discretionary Fund Clean Air grant to install a two-nozzle, 3,000 psi slow-fill CNG refueling station at the City's Corporate Yard. In addition, the City previously made use of MSRC matching funds to replace three fleet vehicles with dedicated CNG vehicles. The City of Cerritos endeavors to continue to replace vehicles with models that promote a healthy environment by using less fuel and producing less pollutants and emissions. In order to continue to expand the City's fleet of CNG vehicles, it became necessary to expand the infrastructure.

The project was completed on April 24, 2008
The objective of the project was to lower fuel emissions of the City of Cerritos' fleet by providing the infrastructure to support additional dedicated CNG vehicles, which will replace gasoline and diesel vehicles. To accomplish this objective, we would need to install time fill stations with both 3,000 and 3,600 psi capabilities and a quick-fill station for larger vehicles.
The project took some time to complete. Long lead time for equipment. Design approval, permits, etc. However, the results are fantastic and the equipment is now in full use.
